Context and starting point

Palisandar Ltd. needed a web platform that reflects the real way the company works with products, inquiries and customers. The old website served a basic presentation role, but it did not provide a strong enough foundation for developing the product catalog, SEO, advertising and more convenient sales communication. That is why we approached the project not as a standard redesign, but as the development of a working system for long-term growth.

A product catalog with real business complexity

The most complex part was the product structure. In the old website, products with different variants were often shown as separate products, which led to duplicated descriptions, repeated specifications and incomplete information. With wood materials, one product may have variations by size, thickness, length, quality, processing or packaging, while in another product the same type of information may be only an attribute. This required precise logic, clear categorization and a more structured way to work with SKUs, attributes and variations.

WordPress and WooCommerce architecture

We built the platform on WordPress, WooCommerce and WoodMart, with the foundation significantly adapted to the needs of the project. The goal was not just to install a ready-made online store, but to build a system that can work with a large catalog, specific product data, different inquiry scenarios and future development.

Custom variation logic

We built more precise logic for working with variations, so the product catalog could be closer to the real sales process. Instead of different sizes, qualities or processing options being scattered as separate products, they were structured into clearer product families. This helps customers navigate more easily and allows the Palisandar team to manage the catalog in a more organized way with less duplication.

Internal tools and specialized development

One of the most important parts of the project was the development of specialized WordPress and WooCommerce solutions that address specific working situations in the store. These are not decorative add-ons, but features built around Palisandar’s real process - product variations, measurement units, packaging, quick inquiries, sticky actions on product pages, easier work with orders and better administration of large data sets. Such solutions are rarely covered well by ready-made plugins, because the problem is not only technical. It is connected to the way the business sells, consults and processes inquiries.

Managing large volumes of product data

As the catalog grew, it became clear that manually managing hundreds of products and thousands of variations was not a sustainable process. That is why, as part of the development, a system for working with product data through Google Sheets was prepared - with checkboxes, formulas and a structure that allows faster management of variations, attributes, prices and sizes. This is an important separate part of the project and can be reviewed on its own as an internal product management system.

Inquiries and sales process

With this type of product, customers often do not complete the process entirely online. They view a product, review sizes and variants, and then send a quick inquiry or call by phone to clarify quantity, application, transport and final price. That is why the platform was built to support the real sales process, rather than reduce it to a standard online order or inquiry.

Visual consistency of the catalog

A large part of the product images were processed and standardized to create a more organized catalog appearance. This was important because with a large number of products, visual inconsistency quickly creates a sense of disorder. A unified approach to the images helps products be understood more clearly and supports the professional presentation of the brand.

Mobile experience and product navigation

The website was adapted so that product navigation, filters, categories and contact actions are convenient on mobile devices. This is especially important for users who are looking for a product on the go, comparing options or wanting to quickly contact the Palisandar team.

Content, categories and product pages

We structured the main product categories, services, blog content and informational pages so the website has a clearer structure both for users and search engines. This created a better foundation for developing organic presence and future advertising campaigns.

Related directions in the project development

This WooCommerce platform is the foundation on which we developed several additional directions for Palisandar Ltd. Some of them are related to internal work with product data, while others focus on visibility, advertising, support and the visual presentation of the catalog.

What We Achieved

We built a WordPress and WooCommerce platform for Palisandar Ltd. that turns a complex catalog of over 200 products and over 5800 active product variations into a more organized system for product presentation, inquiries, administration, SEO and advertising. Organic clicks from Google Search are approximately 4-5 times higher in the period after the new website launched compared with the period before its launch, reflecting the stronger technical foundation, better product structure and consistent work on the website.
